Tor browser
We know that Google chrome is one of the most popular Web browser and most of us are currently using it. But did you that on a search "What are the best Web browsers", Chrome ranked 26th while Tor ranked 1st. So why isn't chrome ranked number 1?
To answer this question first we have to know what happens when we search a query on Chrome. When you visit a website from Chrome, the request goes from your computer/ phone to your Internet service provides and then to the website you want to visit. So you see, your Internet service provider and the government will know exactly what are you doing on the Internet. Now this is a problem for people who are concerned with their safety. Also since Chrome is the most popular Web browser, it is also a great target for hackers.
Now here Tor Browser comes into play.
Tor is one of the most secure Web browsers and it implements onion routing in its encryption which means that the data including destination IP is encrypted multiple times which makes it difficult to trace back. When you go to Google from TOR, your search request is encrypted and then sent to your Internet service provider. From there, instead of the query going directly to Google’s servers, it goes through other random computers or nodes. The query after a while reaches the exit node (which is selected at random) where it is decrypted and then it goes to Google’s server. The result then reaches another node where it is encrypted again and sent back to you from another random chain.
Note that the tor browser may perform slower than the other browsers due to its complicated inner working but that drawback should be negligible for the people who rely on its protection.
IFTTT
If This Then That (IFTTT) is similar to Conscient app. It allows your to automate more than 700 different apps and services including Twitter, Dropbox, Evernote, Fitbit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant.
IFTTT derives its name from the programming conditional statement “if this, then that.”
But with the help of IFTTT, you can connect different apps and devices together and perform tasks which you couldn't do otherwise. Yes you can also automate your smart home devices with this app. For example, turning on the lights as soon as you enter home, or turning off the fans as soon as your leave your room.
There are over 100, 000's of pre-build automations already in the app and if you're creative enough, you can build your own.
